"My son had his first session last week with Annette and to be honest, I explained exactly to him what she would be doing `helping him to make things easier at school`. Annette opened her door, with a big smile and straight away, Oliver was put at ease and so was I. I could tell they were going to get on. Initially Annette telephoned me prior to the session starting and we discussed at length how she could help him, what was his strengths and weaknesses and what he struggled with. I picked Oliver up from his session, he was beaming, ear to ear. He raved on about how many stars he had, what he was been awarded and how well he had done, how phonics made sense. Annette had achieved her first goal, giving him confidence. The feedback I was given was so reassuring and I felt proud. Oliver that night read his reading book, where sometimes he would guess words, read his book without any errors and with ease. The next few days saw him go up a band in his reading and excelled in areas at school he had previously struggled with. Oliver is so looking forward to his next session and said he felt `she made things make sense to him`. I can`t wait to see what the next few weeks/months brings.
