"Alison was my biology tutor throughout the Summer before year 13 and the whole of year 13. We had lessons once a week and later we had lessons three times a fortnight. Alison is extremely knowledgeable in biology which allowed me to ask for extra information that was not necessarily required but allowed me to better understand the content that was required. Alison is also very patient and would repeat her explanations in different wordings until I completely understood the concept. During our lessons, Alison would show powerpoints with pictures and then explain all the ideas in the topic I chose to cover whereas in school, I would be copying down sentences from textbooks or powerpoints. Alison’s method allowed me to actually listen to what she was saying and then I could selectively write down key points. This made me understand the ideas much more. I found lessons in school sometimes frustrating as things were often left unexplained however after my lessons with Alison, I felt happy as I left understanding everything we had discussed in that hour. I could always ask any question I had and Alison would always give a fulfilling answer. Alison helped me achieve the grades I wanted as well as making biology even more interesting to me. Alison is an excellent tutor and I would truly recommend her!"
