How students can cope with exam stress in any subject at GCSE and A Level is no secret! Exercise, sleep and good organisational skills are all key to achieving the desired grades.

Tips

Make an early start and revise 2 subjects per day. Break your revision down into topics and learn to write information down for example remind yourself of key facts on flashcards which will help you to memorise the facts because just reading over notes isn`t sufficient to absorb fully all the detailed information!

Try to make topic lists to work through and take regular breaks throughout the day to allow you to fully absorb new information. It`s helpful to make a list of topics and tick topics off as you revise them.

Quality revision is better than quantity so try and revise 1 hour and then, take half an hour break. Afterwards, start revision again. If this works for you, great! EVeryone is different but don`t stay up all night revising or trying late night cramming the day before an exam! Sleep is essential so, try not to revise after 9:55pm!

Its 100% important to take breaks and do something different such as the gym or a walk! You should try some form of exercise at least once a day during revision and exam period because doing something else to relax you during your breaks just helps! All the revision will just sink in whether you`re walking & running or doing some other activity. It just calms you down as you`re distracting yourself and focusing on something apart from revision. It gives your brain a rest.

Remember, the moment that stress makes you feel there is nothing you can do to prepare well for your upcoming exams, stop revising for a while and take a break! It works!
