My daughter is 8 and in year 3, her teacher notified us that she was struggling with writing in English class. I spoke to her and she confirmed it. Worried mum started searching on line and found tutorhunt. I read the reviews and decided to try it, we found Amanda. Amanda is soft spoken and knew my daughter’s problem, she recommended we buy Bond 11+ English Assessment for 7-8 but my daughter struggled. She then reduced it to 6-7 to boost my daughter’s confidence. We are so happy, my daughter is now in her age Bond 11+ 7-8years and doing great. Amanda praises her every step and we were so lucky to have found a good teacher.

My son has had GCSE English tutoring from Amanda and I couldn`t have found a better tutor! She has helped him by explaining what he needs to do, showing him what it looks like, getting him to try it, giving feedback and then helping him understand how to improve his work. His confidence has improved massively, he enjoys his lesson and has been happy to do homework. Amanda sends high quality resources for him to work on during lesson and between lessons. Amanda has intensively worked with my son to prepare him for his English Language and Literature GCSE equivalent exams over a 3 week period. Following the recent lock down it became clear that my son had gaps in his knowledge and was in no way prepared having not had mocks and not thriving with online schooling. Amanda worked with him through the Language and Literature curriculum addressing specific areas and doing a lot of exam revision. At time of writing this review my son is still doing his exams but it is obvious that he feels far more confident in his knowledge and is so much better prepared.

Amanda is a great tutor. Both in terms of lessons organisation (always sending resources and feedback ahead of the lessons) and of lesson content. My kids are not exactly active pupils at school, but Amanda encourage them to participate actively and succeed to keep them engaged during the whole session. She identified and patiently address their weak areas. Coincidence or not, my son got an 8+ in his latest English assessment, so I`m really happy with her tutoring.

My 14 year old son is being taught by Amanda in all areas of English GCSE Language and Literature. Initially, he had little motivation and hardly any confidence in English but, after a short period of time with Amanda, his attitude has completely changed for the better and he tries very hard in English. His confidence has really grown and his standard has improved a lot. Thanks to her professionalism, sensitivity, enthusiasm and her positive approach to learning, she has challenged my son and brought out the very best in him. This she does with skill and sensitivity and deals with all the interruptions from her pupil patiently.
