My name is Daisy-May. I have three grade As at A level, a further A and B at AS and 2,1 degree from The University of Manchester in English Literature, Drama and Film Studies. I also have the TEFL teaching qualification accredited by The University of Kingston, a Distinction in Film Making from the London Film Academy and have trained as a Director at RADA. I have written and directed for theatre and film and have a passion for the arts, politics and the social sciences.

Experience: I have a great deal of tutoring and teaching experience, working with adults and children at varying stages of their academic and artistic careers. I believe that my success as a tutor comes from the fact that I am extremely passionate about my subjects, patient and sensitive to the individual needs of every pupil, imaginative in my approach to teaching and committed to making sure that every tutee`s potential translates into achievement.
I have been teaching primary creative writing and literacy for a number of years, working both as a private tutor and a workshop leader in schools. I have also worked with a number of primary aged pupils on their drama skills and have run drama workshops for children.
At senior school level, I have taught GCSE English Literature and Language extensively. Again, I have taught these subjects to private pupils as well as in schools and tuition centres, where pupils have come to me for extra coaching.
I teach A Level Philosophy, RS, Government and Politics, Film Studies, English Literature and Language, History of Art, Sociology and Drama. I have received exceptional feedback across the board for my tutoring in these subjects.
I have also tutored at degree level in Film Studies, English Literature, Sociology, Art History and Philosophy. This has involved helping pupils to get to grips with concepts and texts, and to produce essays and dissertations.
In addition to my role as tutor, I work in high schools and primary schools as a school speaker, delivering talks on animal rights and vegan cookery workshops.

- Good at making concise notes for the student to take away and expand upon and not rigid in her teaching method. - Open to expanding upon concepts in order for the student to fully understand them & uses a range of techniques such as watching videos, making mindmaps, analysing exemplar essays, making mnemonics etc. Would recommend :)

Daisy May tutored our eldest son through GSCE English with dramatic effect. She gave him the tools and confidence to pull out of him insights that he didn`t know he had and enabled him to structure his answers far better than he had known how to do previously. He turned it around and got a very strong grade and she played a crucial role in this there`s no doubt.

Daisy-May is a very experienced teacher who is highly professional, helpful, patient and most importantly very passionate. Daisy-May is an excellent teacher. She created in my 10 year old boy a real interest in creative writing plus every subjects chosen by Daisy May are rich on english history. She increased his confidence in his writing skills and built a wilder vocabulary, as a french family who speak mostly french at home it`s a big win.
