There is a checklist of things you can do when revising, each time when revising. But first it would be beneficial to find out what type of learner you are, so then you can maximise the use of your time, and actaully revise effectively, which is going to be different for each individual. So, try out my questionnaire and find out what type of learner you are. Feel free to contact me.
When you want to put information into your long term memory, there`s a way to do it. When you want to put information into your short term memory, there`s a different way to do it. This latter one is the one we usually want for exam revision, with the time limits involved too. Put simply, it`s best to be re-visiting information several times over, rather than once or twice intensively. Revision does not have to be intense, it can simply be re-visiting information at particular intervals that make it easier for the brain to soak up. Re-visiting information a month later, then 2 weeks later, then a week later, then a few days later, then a day later, then a few hours later, up until the exam.
The biggest most effective revision you could possibly do is this - (a HUGE percentage of your revision efforts can be reduced by this single thing) - listen in class time, actually listen and be involved when you`re teacher is teaching, ignore the distractions and people chatting around you. You will make your life easier and less stressful, TRUST ME.
