Percentage change can be fairly hard
So we’re gonna rap it, and rhyme like the Bard

Take the percentage increase, then
Divide by a hundred (that’s ten times ten).
This makes the percentage really small,
And turns it into a decimal!

Take that decimal, then add one,
One final step and then we’re done
Times that by the original value
And that’s the answer! Did I wow you?

Percentage decrease, that comes next,
We follow along for the first few steps
Divide percentage decrease by one hundred,
Get a decimal, and then you should
Take that decimal away from one
One final step and then we’re done,
Times that by the original value
And that’s the answer! Did I wow you?

Undoing a percentage change
Has a method that’s really strange
Make sure you understand the why
But right now, let’s make the beats fly!

Take the percentage increase, then
Divide by a hundred (that’s ten times ten).
This makes the percentage really small,
And turns it into a decimal!

Take that decimal, then add one,
One final step and then we’re done
Divide the original value by
This new decimal! You might ask why,

It’s because it’s the opposite operation
Which we use to do the opposite action

Percentage change can be fairly hard
So we’re gonna rap it, and rhyme like the Bard

We’ll undo percentage decrease next
Rap along, you know these steps
Divide percentage decrease by one hundred,
Get a decimal, and then you should
Take that decimal away from one
One final step and then we’re done,
Divide the original value by
This new decimal! That’s all, goodbye!
