Information about Antonia
Hiya, I am an A-Level Teacher, running the Psychology department at an independent school in South East London/Kent. I absolutely love teaching Psychology and working with A-Level students.
With a degree in Psychology from a Russel Group university, I feel confident in the content I need to cover and in how to develop a student`s essential skills. A benefit of being a relatively young teacher, is the type of professional relationship I can form with students. I find a more relaxed and friendly approach allows my students to make a lot of progress whilst also finding their studies enjoyable.
As a teacher with an additional need, ADHD, I am confident working with a range of additional needs and have the skills/experiences desirable to do so.
Availability: I am available for both in person tutoring, dependant on location. I am a full time teacher, so will be available outside of school hours or on the weekend.
Willing to travel: 5 miles
Experience: I am currently in my fifth year of teaching A-Level Psychology, within my own department. Before teaching, I completed an Undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of Liverpool. Whilst in Liverpool, I worked with the council to tutor and mentor young and struggling students from a range of backgrounds in several subjects; from year 7 to Post 16. I competed my teacher training through School Direct at Turton, a programme which required me to teach independently from the very beginning of the course.
Since qualifying, I have taught A-Level Psychology to successful cohorts, with many of my pupils going on to study Psychology at University. I am a Head of House, so have experience working with all ages and creating diverse activities to keep the learning engaging.
Alongside teaching, I have tutored several pupils privately to help with revision and assistance alongside their school education. I have experience working with students with a wide range of additional needs and requirements, and have completed Nasen training to develop my skills further.
