Every child has dreams. Every child has goals. They just need that person to show them that they are capable of reaching these.

Fully qualified and experienced Primary Teacher with additional skills. 2021 Qualified with a level 4 in the introduction to counselling. I look at the whole person in the approach to learning, not just the targets.

After graduating in 2008 with a 2:1 degree in Primary Education and English, I am a primary school teacher and have had full time experience of education for twelve years. I have taught from the age of 4 up to the age of 11. I am now an HLTA locally and that means I get to teach every subject. I have had five years experience teaching year 1, 3, 4 and 5 and seven years covering Teacher`s free time in two schools from Reception to year 6 so have a vast knowledge of progress and how to help pupils reach secure levels in Maths, Writing and Reading. I have passed three of my tutees (boys and girls) to the Grammar School after tutoring them for the 11+.

My school career decisions have allowed me more time in the working day to privately tutor children, which, so far, has been a roaring success.
I have ensured the children I work with make quicker than expected progress, for example a girl with which I have worked, in the space of six months, has made a full level progress in Maths (expected to exceeding). This is already above the expected progress within a full year at school - which is to stay at the expected level per academic year unless it is obvious that they are exceeding in certain areas in school (I can accommodate for these children to, to get them to mastery). Another boy, who was already exceeding at school, required two months of support before the 11+ to perfect exam skills, especially the verbal reasoning skills, and I helped to get him a pass!

I believe the one to one work and working within the comfort of their own homes allows them time as well as the confidence to achieve this. I now use the New Curriculum assessment guidelines provided for each year group to ensure the children with which I work are meeting the correct objectives and I plan the sessions according to areas of weakness that need work. I enjoy the challenge of being a private tutor as well as the opportunity to help other children reach their full potentials in learning.

My tutoring techniques are unique. The skills I have taught within the sessions can then be used and applied in other situations, such as school, or for homework. School reports have shown that teachers have noticed a significant difference in the levels of confidence of the children I teach, after I have started work with them.

2009 - 2010: 1 term full time teaching year 1 (5 and 6 year olds) 2 terms full time teaching year 4 (8 and 9 year olds).
2010 - 2013: Three years full time teaching year 5 (9 and 10 year olds).
2013 - April 2014: Full time Year 3 teacher (7 and 8 year olds).
April 2014 - February 2015: Cover teacher across the Curriculum (Year Reception up to Year 6).
February 2015 - August 2015: Year 4 Teacher (full time).
September 2015 - August 2017: Key Stage Two cover teacher (Year 3 to Year 6)
September 2017 onwards: Reception, KS1 and KS2 cover
