Hi! I am Val, a Molecular Microbiology PhD student with previous degrees in Biomedical science and Molecular Biology of Infectious Diseases. Over the years during my studies at university, I have volunteered as a student mentor and tutored several undergraduate students. I have also volunteered in nurseries and tutored students of varying ages.

I believe that to get the best out of my students, I need to ensure that they are comfortable in the learning environment, they are engaged with the topic and that they enjoy learning. All of this is dependent on finding out what the student`s learning style is, as that differs for us all. I always adapt my teaching style to the student.

Availability: Week day evenings and weekends

Willing to travel: 5 miles

Experience: I am highly knowledgeable in Biology however, my degrees and jobs within the science industry have also developed my skills in essay and dissertation writing, statistical analysis, giving presentations, examination preparation and organisation. I can also assist with university and job applications and interview preparation.

I have experience tutoring at levels up onto undergraduate level.
