Since qualifying as a teacher 10 years ago, I have had extensive experience teaching both AQA and OCR A level Psychology to more than 300 students. I also mark exam papers for OCR, and this familiarity with the requirements of the exam boards has enhanced my teaching. Having taken on a role as Head of Year for Year 12 and 13, I have personally supported more than 500 students through the UCAS application, on average writing references and working on personal statements for 80 students a year. One of my proudest achievements in my work has been successfully supporting students in Oxbridge and Medical applications, with a success rate of 75% - significantly higher than the national average.

As well as this, I have also taught GCSE psychology, Health and Social Care Level 2, and KS3 Maths. I have had a wealth of experience teaching students of all abilities in mathematics, including in one-to-one tuition.

I will approach any tutoring session in the same way I would approach planning my lessons. Depending on the needs of the tutee, I will include an initial assessment to determine how best to structure our sessions and then set them regular work to do between sessions, as well as a wide range of activities during sessions to build their confidence. As my students would say, my strength as a teacher is in feedback, so marking work between sessions will be a big part of my tutoring.
