Luigi

I graduated from King`s College London with a first-class honours degree in Mathematics and Philosophy. I am currently reading Mathematical Modelling at UCL for my MSc.
I have achieved A* in nine A-levels including: Mathematics, Philosophy, Latin grammar and literature, English, Italian literature and grammar, History of Arts and Natural Sciences.
I was awarded three prizes for my results in both Mathematics and Philosophy.
• The Pledger Prize, 2016/7, "awarded to an undergraduate student who has completed two full years of study (240 credits) with the best marks in a combined honours programme."
• The Adrian Grey-Turner Memorial Prize, 2016/7, "awarded to one or more second year undergraduate students who have achieved the highest average mark for the year of study"

As a teacher, I believe that learning should be a process of discovery and, as such, it should involve not only understanding, but it should be enjoyable.
I care about making even the hardest parts of Mathematics clear, almost obvious and easy to understand.
My aim is to make my tutees always feel comfortable with asking me any kind of question. I also aim at delivering classes with brilliance, making sure to both address the question as well as pointing at the most important aspects of the topic they are studying.

My tutees say that I am patient and understanding. I have a profound desire to help others understand what I am teaching in the best possible way. I believe that making the student feel in no way inferior to the teacher helps them really focus on the subject and make it enjoyable. This is why I like to establish a very friendly relationship with all my tutees and parents.

Experience: In my experience as a tutor I can proudly say that I never failed to help a student meet his objectives.
I have worked at a tuition centre as a teaching assistant for the past year, leading classes for the year 6 group, to prepare my students for their SATs.

• A-Level Mathematics:
I have helped A-Level students to achieve the marks they wanted. I have a clear understanding of the aims and objectives this qualification. Having studied mathematics at university with great results, I am a very confident mathematics tutor. I am also happy to teach A-Level physics.

• GCSE Mathematics and Italian:
I have taught GCSE mathematics for a few years and with extraordinary results with all my tutees, who all managed to get the marks they needed for their colleges and Sixth Forms.
Having studied Italian for 13 years and being a native-speaker, I am also a confident Italian tutor.

• 11+, 13+ and SATs Mathematics:
I worked at a tuition centre in Brent as a teacher for the Year 6 group to prepare them for their SATs exam.
I have also given one-to-one tuition to two children to help them with their 11+ and 13+ examinations. Both of them managed to get into the secondary schools they wanted to get in.

• Latin (for Secondary Schools):
I have studied latin for 5 years in secondary school and I am a confident teacher of Latin for secondary schools. I have collaborated with a Catholic school recently to help them develop a better teaching plan.

• STEP/MAT Oxbridge entry exams, Mathematics:
I have also helped students to pass their entry examinations for Oxford and Cambridge. I have successfully led them to pass their entry tests, both for the MAT and the STEP.

• IELTS Examination:
I have taught English for speakers of other languages and helped them achieve the grade they wanted in their IELTS examination. I pass the IELTS in 2015 with a mark of 8.0 and can help students understand the best strategies to tackle all the sections of the exam.

*Other Interests*
I have been playing the piano since I was 6 years old. I really like music in all of its shades. I am also into History of Arts. I have been taking up the subject for 5 years during high school. This is probably one of the main reasons why I love London. I always have the chance to explore new wonderful exhibitions around town.
Finally, I have been taking drama classes for two years before moving to the UK. I am really into theatre works and plays.
