I am an `Outstanding` Grammar School teacher, Masters educated, specialising in English Language / Literature. I currently teach students aged 11-18 in a selective school in Kent, but also have prior experience in non-selective education. I am practised in developing high aspirations for my tutees and have helped a number of my students secure places to read English at Oxford (most recently summer 2023).

I have tutored students online from across the UK, from village primaries to the top private schools; over the years, I have developed a reputation for providing the highest quality of online education, expertise and engaging schemes of learning for those who demand the very best. Students of mine often exceed their expected grades at GCSE, IB and A-Level and I have experience in examining for all the major exam boards. I am passionate about giving students the best chance of success in their exams and securing their first-choice destination, whether it be the local selective school, or a place at their favoured Russel Group university. I have worked with a broad range of abilities from ages 9-18 and have become a specialist in nurturing more able students to reach their full potential whilst fostering a lifelong appreciation and interest in literature.

I like to challenge my students to the best of their ability but at a pace that suits their needs. I am very patient and calm and have experience teaching a wide range of students with a wealth of educational needs.

Due to the current climate, I will be teaching sessions online for 11+, KS3, GCSE, A-Level / IB.

Experience: I have Qualified Teacher Status (11-18) and have taught English in Kent secondary schools for a few years now from KS3 through to Sixth Form study.

I achieved a 1st Class Honours in English & American Literature and went on to specialise in Victorian Literature at Masters level (Distinction).
