Hey! My name is Naji, I`m a 29-year old therapist in training (and soon-to-be father!) who works in a therapeutic school for children with SEMH needs including significant learning and behavioural difficulties.

Throughout my time working with children, I`ve developed a very patient, calm, and empathetic demeanour. My focus is on building trust, independence, and confidence through a positive, praise-led approach.

First and foremost, I`ll aim to find out their learning style, and help them feel comfortable, understood, and relaxed. The lesson, then, will be bespoke to your child whether they learn better through art, writing, movement, visualisation, or more traditional methods. Whatever they need!

During the practical part of the lesson, I will provide guidance and step-by-step explanation at the start before gradually encouraging your child to continue the process independently. My focus will be on guiding your child to an understanding with decreasing input from myself as possible to build their confidence.

Due to the nature of my work, I have an intimate knowledge of the curriculum and access to resources and learning material that could greatly aid in your child`s learning and understanding. My aim is for your child to be able to study independently and prepare themselves for future exams with confidence.

Experience: I have enjoyed the past seven years working with children in a Primary setting, predominantly working in a one-to-one capacity. With an abundance of training to support pupils with diverse learning needs, I`ve become used to adapting my teaching style in a way to best support the individual. I have spent the last six years working in a therapeutic primary school, recently taking on a role as a trainee therapist but still working heavily in teaching children with SEMH needs.
