I have an M.A in History from the University of York and a B.A in English from Loughborough University. I have written for The Guardian, The Independent.

I`ve written for national newspapers and magazines including The Guardian, The Independent, The Huffington Post, History Today, Explore History, History of Royals, Discover Your Ancestors, Writers` Forum, Media Magazine and the magazine of the association of Independent Professionals and the Self Employed (IPSE).

Availability: Very flexible. However, I only teach online.

Willing to travel: 30 miles

Experience: I have been teaching both English and History since 2015 and have now seen around 30 students through their exams with flying colours.

This year (2018/19) saw my students achieving incredible results including one student achieve two level 6s, having been predicted level 4s in both English GCSEs. Last year students scored highly - one student achieved a level 8 in his GCSE Literature.

As writing and journalism is my main profession, I pride myself on teaching students how to write well and structure their arguments in a coherent way which I think is key to passing the exams. Having taken my A-levels in 2012 and GCSEs in 2010, I am very familiar with the modern exam system.

I also believe in engaging a student with the subject and will always suggest further reading should students wish to follow anything up and provide appropriate notes for revision.
