Information about Harriet
Hello my name is Harriet, I am 22 years old and I am currently in my fourth year of studying Medicine at Newcastle University. I am keen to teach students in KS2 maths and English, 11+ exam preparation, and maths at KS3 and GCSE level and if needed I can help with science subjects too.
I think patience, on both the side of the learner and the teacher, is essential. I think everyone is capable, it is just a matter of repetition and practice and finding out what works best for you. Weekly homework is really important for consolidation and practice, if you struggle with the questions I set, I am only an email away! We can also go through any problems during the next lesson.
Studying medicine has provided me with extensive experience working alongside children and a great variety of people, as well as effective methods of communication which help when explaining difficult concepts to students. I have experience volunteering at an after-school club for younger children with disabilities and I was a member of a town youth council for three years. I also have experience tutoring students with dyslexia. I have tutored for two years both on Tutorhunt and through other companies, in person and online. I really enjoy it which I hope comes across through my teaching, and I would love to continue this into the future.
As I am a student, I know it`s not easy absorbing new material and trying to understand new concepts, so I`m here to explain it all to you as many times as you need me to!
Thank you for taking the time to read through my profile.
