As an alumna of Chesham Grammar School, I have experience of learning in a highly academic environment. I know what selective schools are looking for in their potential students and I work hard to ensure all students reach their full potential.

I went on to read English and Drama BA (Hons) at Goldsmiths University of London, before going into teacher training at UCL`s Institute of Education, passing the PGCE with distinction. I am currently completing my Masters Degree in Education (MEd) from UCL`s Institute of Education and will be awarded as Master of Education as of 2018.

Experience: I have taught English to girls and boys of all abilities from Years 7-13 in schools and have had experience of tutoring primary school children. I have taught English Literature and Language GCSE, as well as A Level English Literature, most recently at The London Oratory School for boys with outstanding results. I have experience working with the new 9-1 grading exam syllabus for GCSEs and have worked with both AQA and OCR exam boards for GCSEs/IGCSEs and A Levels.

A baseline assessment will be given at the start of tuition to gauge each student`s strengths and weaknesses and to plan a scheme of lessons across a negotiable amount of time. It is important to set clear learning objectives and outcomes at the beginning of the programme of study.

I will tailor all lessons to the individual child`s needs, always factoring in clear learning goals so that the student shows progress across time. It is important for students to grow in confidence and to enjoy the lessons I use praise and clear targets to engage students fully. I am always on hand to liaise with parents about homework or reading materials.
