I am a confident and hard-working individual passionate about working with children and young people. I graduated from Warwick University with a 2:1 Hons history degree and I am a qualified Cambridge English teacher. I have tutored a wide range of students in English literature, language, History and Spanish helping to prepare them for SATs, Entrance Exams, GCSEs,A Levels and IELTs examinations.
I relish the opportunity to assist students in achieving their goals.
Availability: Weekday hours, some evenings and weekends.
Willing to travel: 5 miles
Experience: I have worked as a private tutor for over three years, building great relationships with my students and their families, often being recommended for future tuition placements.
I have experience working in public and primary nurseries, primary and secondary schools and education centres. I relish the opportunity to help students of all ages and backgrounds to achieve their best results.

My daughter commenced sessions with Clarissa a few weeks ago now following our hunt for a new tutor due to a negative experience. Clarissa has a warm, friendly and encouraging manner and is always pleased to see our daughter. She is very forthcoming with feedback on her progress and very clear with homework and how we can support at home. She has been accommodating when I have had to change our slot due to personal circumstances and is very supportive of us as a family and our experience of working with our daughter towards the 11+

Despite only having a few lessons with Clarissa I find her feedback on my essays and the way she explains content has really helped me fine tune my revision. I hope to have more lessons with her as I am struggling with timing and analysing my A level English Language paper.

Clarissa has taken on my 7 & 8 yr old sons over Skype with us being in the Middle East. So with all the planning headaches and time differences issues, including dropping Skype calls and all of that, Clarissa has stuck with us and the kids really do enjoy working with her. She has focused on increasing their reading fluency as well as working on their writing as well. I would definitely recommend Clarissa without a doubt.
