Information about Celestelle

I`m a Teaching Assistant whose eventual goal is to become a Child and Adolescent Psychologist. I have a degree in BSc Psychology and have been able to transfer the skills I obtain whilst helping children learn and achieve their full potential.

Availability: I am flexible but available specifically during Monday-Friday 5PM-7:30PM and 10:30AM-2PM on Saturdays.

Willing to travel: 8 miles

Experience: I currently work within a Primary School as a Teaching Assistant and support a child who has SEND needs on a 1 to 1 basis. I generally help him with subjects such as Maths, English which can include: learning spellings and grammar as well as, History and Science. I achieved a first-class in my BSc Psychology degree and have worked hard to apply the interventions I learnt about during Cognitive Development modules, successfully within the classroom.

I have a keen passion for helping children and have been tutoring informally for the past 3 years, whilst I was completing my degree. This has allowed me to adopt key skills such as time management as well as immense patience.

During sixth form, I was a senior prefect. I often had to use my own initiative to identify where younger students were struggling and provide a listening ear to deal with any issues in a tactful as well as empathetic manner. I have also been fortunate enough to work in the paediatric ward within my local hospital. Here I was generally a patient befriender and gladly worked alongside members of staff within the hospital, supporting any young patients on the ward and thereby increasing the overall positive experience they have had whilst in hospital.

I once was also the support carer for an adult with learning disabilities. My responsibilities included helping her to become more independent. What I enjoyed most about my role was being able to provide support to someone who had a range of psychosocial needs and might otherwise find it difficult to perform everyday activities. This incredible experience also gave me an opportunity to promote health and wellbeing as well as provide the young lady with a good friendship.

I believe all the reasons deem me fit to provide tutoring which will cater to the individual needs as well as learning patterns of children, in order to best support them. In turn, help to strengthen their knowledge in key topic areas of the subject being taught at hand.

Moreover, I look forward to responding to any enquiries.
