Experience: I have worked in a wide range of different education settings, first as a teaching assistant and then over the last three years as a teacher. Following a career change (after having my second daughter) I took a psychology degree with The Open University and have loved the subject since! After some initial time working in primary schools with year 4-6 students with SEN, I began one-to-one and small group teaching sixth form students studying A level Psychology. These were students who were hospitalised for mental health reasons and suffering low self-esteem, low confidence and often high anxiety. Whilst this work was often challenging it was also very rewarding! I chose to undertake teacher training whilst continuing to work at the hospital school and this soon included additional teaching for KS3/4 students. I have also gained significant experience working with students with ASD and ADHD.
