Information about Ibrahim

Hi! I am a Cambridge-certified ESOL teacher, tutor and qufied enthusiast (graduate) of science , and a big Marvel geek! My interests lie within the field of neuropsychiatry, mental health awareness and creative writing demonstrated by my extensive experience (theoretical and practical), academic rigour and ongoing involvement in the field. As someone who came from a severely disadvantaged background, I hold a strong appreciation for the need to help minorities and disadvantaged students to achieve their full potential. My self-motivation, studious nature and strong sense of faith are just a few reasons why overcame multiple financial, mental and physical stressors to achieve a first class honours in Biomedical Science, 2 academic awards, a publication and a Pass B (top 20%) for the CELTA course. My goals are to assist any and every child in their journey to academic success, but more importantly, to increase their hope, self-worth and overall self-confidence in their later years to come. I believe a memorable teacher is created through kindness, commitment and encouragement in all realms of development for a child and that ethos has driven me in all of my previous tutoring/teaching experience.

Availability: I am available Monday - Thursday 3pm-7pm.

Willing to travel: 2 miles

Experience: I have tutored, for 1 year+ at GCSE level for Science (OCR 21st Century) and Mathematics (Edexcel). Additionally I conducted academic sessions at university level for first and second year students covering modules such as DNA replication, transcri ption, physiology, and pharmacology. Further, I am a qufied ESOL teacher with great references from both my trainers at Oxford House College, London. I have conducted supervised play therapy for children with ASD and acted as a support-system and mentor for my sister who has dyslexia, throughout her academic career. Resultantly, I have skills in effective communication for those with learning difficulties, a specity knowledge in neuropsychiatry from my degree (3rd year specism for which I gained academic awards), vast knowledge on scientific content at GCSE, A-level and University grade and both practical and theoretical knowledge for different teaching approaches.
