Information about Zed

I am a Fully Qualified Private School Head of Department with 8 years of experience from one of the highest ranked Universities in the World. Furthermore, I graduated with a First Class Degree. I also have a distinction in my Masters. I am currently a Full-Time teacher at one of the highest academic achieving Private secondary school in the country, therefore, I know what it takes to create success.

The classes/lessons I give to my students always share a common ethos. The ethos of my lesson is to stretch and challenge my students regardless of their capabilities in order to best prepare the student for the upcoming exams he/she may face. This not only allows my students to be successful but allows them to get ahead of their class at school in terms of subject knowledge. This allows my students to use their school as a means to reinforce knowledge that has already been gained in my lessons.

I`m a strong believer in stretching and challenging the cognitive capabilities of any students in order to stimulate a greater amount of learning. Therefore, the student will always be securing their current knowledge and building upon it.

Availability: As I am a Full-Time Teacher. I will only be available after school hours and on the weekends.

Monday-Friday 4.30pm -8.30pm
Saturday and Sunday 9am-6pm

Willing to travel: 10 miles

Experience: I specialise in Three Areas: Common Entrance Preparation, SATs Preparation & GCSE Preparation.

==============================================================

1. SATs/Common Entrance Preparation:

The Common Entrance Exams consist of four aspects: Verbal, Non-Verbal, Maths and English. Recently, Numerical reasoning and Cloze tests has been added by some schools but the Maths and Verbal reasoning course I teach covers these aspects. If the school doesn`t write the paper themselves. They use one of the five main exam boards : CEM, GL Assessment, CSSE, PPTC or AQE. Within the North London Area, an area which I have gained my experience and have been specialising in, CEM and GL Assessment(previously NFER) are the ones that are used.

Preparing your child for the Common Entrance Exam can be complicating. The different Boards different tests and in some cases the schools setting the exams themselves makes it challenging to master every aspect. However, drawing upon my experience I have designed specialised courses for all four subjects (including numerical reasoning and cloze tests) allowing my students to gain places in their desired school. In terms of the SAT`s preparation I tend to teach my students the Common Entrance syllabus and when their exams are over (generally January when they are in Year 6) I focus on the National Curriculum and mastering SAT`s papers. This has proved to work through out the years as the SAT`s exams are much easier than the Common Entrance exams. If you are not interested in Common Entrance preparation I would still overteach your child and then introduce the SAT`s exam to make it easier for them.

If you would like to gain further information regarding course content and how it will be delivered please don`t hesitate to send me a message.
