Hi, I`m Chris and I have 24 years` experience as a tutor of Maths, English,11+ entrance and Home-schooling tuition. I am also experienced teaching adults both for GCSE Maths, as well as for Adult Numeracy tests for Qualified Teacher entrance and also for Job Qualification entries.
Furthermore, I am very experienced at providing Full National Curriculum tuition to home-schooled students for both KS3 and GCSE Maths.
I also extensively teach Maths at Key Stage 1, Key Stage 2 ,Key Stage 3 and GCSE level.
In addition to this, I teach English at Key Stage 1. Key Stage 2 Key Stage 3 (English Language only). I am fully up to date with the new 9-1 National Curriculum in both Maths & English, having prepared students in both subjects for 9-1 exams.
In Maths, I am fully up to date with the new topics in the new 9-1 GCSE Maths syllabus, such as Sets, Iteration, Velocity/ Time Graphs, finding the nth term of a quadratic sequence, quadratic inequalities, finding the equation to a tangent to a circle, finding inverse and composite functions, and many more...
In 11+ tuition, I have taught around 60 students over the years, and I have a 90% success rate at getting students into Grammar and Private Schools (this is 9 times higher than the average of 10% of students who sit an 11+ exam, and then get into their selective school). I am experienced at teaching all types of 11+ preparation, including CEM and standard versions.
In addition to this, I am experienced at preparing Adult students for the Qts Numeracy & Literacy Tests and i have a 100% success rate with this (5 out of 5 in Numeracy have passed, and 2 out of 2 in Literacy). I am also experienced preparing students for other Numeracy & Literacy Tests.
I live in Telford, Shropshire
I have 58 written references from parents and I also have a Maths degree.
I also have a proven track record of success. For example, I improved 2 students in GCSE Maths recently from F grades to C grades in 9 months. Also, I improved another student in GCSE Maths recently from a C grade to an A grade in 7 months!
Meanwhile, at Primary level, I improved one student from a level 3a in Maths, and a 4c in English (i.e. only just above average), to a level 5a in Maths & English in her Year 6 Sats. She was top of all her year group for Maths & English- so she had improved 2 levels in 18 months. At KS3 level, I have had great success too- one student improved from a level 6 to a level 8 in 2 months` tuition in Maths!
Over the 23 years that I have been a tutor, I have worked with students of all levels & abilities from those with Learning Disabilities to the Gifted & Talented. Within the Learning Disabilities` spectrum, I have taught students with all types of Learning Disability, including those with Dylslexia , Dyspraxia , ADHD, ADD, Dyscalculia, Asperges and Short-term Memory Retention.
I have for much of those 23 years worked as a full-time tutor, and I use National Curriculum Resources for all my tuitions.

I really cannot thank Chris enough for the tuition he provided me. I found that, not only did I pass my Maths Equivalency test, but I also become much more confident with Maths in general. This is something I really didn’t think would be possible. I first asked Chris to tutor me in February 2023 as I needed to pass a Maths Equivalency test with A Star Equivalency in order for me to undertake my PGCE training in September 2023. Before Chris’ tutoring, I had not studied Maths at all for over 13 years, and had always struggled with the subject in the first place. Chris was clearly very knowledgeable, and knew the GCSE exam boards requirements and marking schemes well. He was very patient with me when I struggled with various topics, and managed to explain things in a way that made sense! Chris was friendly and honest about my progress and he made me feel comfortable during lessons. I felt that he had a good grasp on where my Maths abilities lay. All of the tutoring sessions took place online and Chris was flexible with timings as I needed to have lessons centred around my working hours. Lessons began punctually and I was always kept informed if any changes needed to be made. Overall, I am very happy with the tuition that Chris provided. I truly feel that I would not have been able to pass my Maths exam without his help.

Chris tutored my son from March 2023 until June 2023 for GCSE Maths which he completed in June 2023. At the time my son’s predicted grade was 4 and he achieved a grade 6 just missing out on 7. The tutoring took place mainly on zoom and occasionally on WhatsApp. Chris is very professional, reliable, patient, and has a great way of explaining methods in a clear and understandable way. We were very impressed with how Chris helped my son achieve more than he thought possible and highly recommend him as a Maths Tutor.

Chris tutored my son from March 2022 until June 2022 for GCSE Maths which he completed in June 2022. My son was predicted a grade 5 and achieved a grade 7, we were concerned he wouldn`t achieve the grade 5 hence getting a tutor. We have been delighted with how Chris has helped my son achieve more than he thought possible. Chris`s clear explanations of the mathematical concepts helped my son gain a deeper understanding. His confidence developed allowing him to translate his knowledge to the exam questions. The tutoring took place mainly on zoom and occasionally on WhatsApp. Chris was easy to work with and went out of his way to fit George into a timeslot that worked for George, especially around holiday times. To conclude, i would thoroughly recommend Chris as a Maths Tutor.
