Information about Mo

Modupe has been involved in education for over seven years, having worked exclusively as an educator since his second year of University. Since graduating from the University of Oxford in 2014 Modupe has taught a wide array of subjects, typically ranging from the humanities, alongside Mathematics and English. Being an expert on 11+ examinations he has gained much needed experience in Mathematics, English, Verbal Reasoning and Non-Verbal reasoning. His mother was the woman who introduced him into the examination system, having worked as a primary school teacher and tutor for over 20 years, specialising in 11+.

Modupe began his educational career as a private tutor in 11+. Since beginning he was worked with clients who have gained admission to schools ranging from Eton College, to Radley College and Winchester College. Over the past few years he has worked with a number of schools and private clients, providing a secure and thorough service which has ensured much needed improvement and success. Modupe recently embarked upon a Post Graduate Certificate in Education at the University of Oxford where he specialised in Mathematics.

More recently Modupe has been involved in 7+ and 8+ tuition, assisting students for admission in schools such as Highgate and Magdalen College School. Modupe enjoys working with the students at this age group because of the rapport he builds with them. His extensive experience for this age group has given him much confidence coupled with a number of verifiable techniques to ensure each student is given a high chance of excelling through upcoming examinations.

Modupe is an enthusiastic teacher who loves to reap the benefits of good results. When a student does well academically, he feels they have done well too. This is his major motivation and he enjoys bringing out the best in his students and seeing them improve on a weekly basis.

He is good at encouraging his students and incentivising them. He pushes his students – albeit softly – to maximise their academic potential. He is a patient teacher who shows compassion to students who are working at a variety of different levels.

Experience: I have been working within the education system for the last seven years.

I started off with 11+, GCSE Mathematics and English. Now for the last 5 years, upon graduation, I have worked with the with a number of schools and private clients, including Croydon Metropolitan College and Harris Battersea school. I have taught A Level Mathematics, Philosophy, RS, Creative Writing, Economics and GCSE maths, English and Science. I am also teaching Philosophy and Religious Studies at a similar level (I.e GCSE and at Alevel).

I now tutor at University level too - in Politics, Development and Philosophy.

I have worked as a teaching assistant, a tutor and a training teacher during this time. I worked as a teacher assistant for 3 months last year and during this time I specialized with SEN students and ESL students. I worked with Mathematics team and this is my specialised subject but because of my extensive experience with tutoring I feel comfortable working within any subject. I have tutored English, R.S, Mathematics and Economics up to A-LEVEL - and I also specialise in 11+ so therefore I will feel comfortable working across any subject offered.

Apart from working as a teacher assistant already, I also spent a whole year tutoring a student with autism. This was my first experience working with a SEN student but I learnt a lot during my time with him. Compassion and patience were key during this time. Also building a sense of rapport and trust were significant. I taught the 13 year-old boy Mathematics, Science and English during this time.
