Information about Abigail

I am a qualified primary school teacher with experience across the school age range. Having worked with children with a wide range of needs, I enjoy adapting the way I teach to meet the needs of each pupil. I have high expectations of all children that I work with and feel that all children can succeed provided they have the correct support to meet their needs.

My approach is very dependent on the pupil`s needs.

I first meet with a new student and assess their needs then put plans into place to ensure that they make the progress they are capable of.

When working with my younger students, I aim to make lessons as fun as possible in order to maintain their concentration for the lesson. This usually involves using a mixture of resources, activities and games.

Availability: I am available Mon-Wed from 9.30am-2pm and Thurs-Fri from 9.30am-5.30pm.

Experience: I have been working in education and childcare for over 10 years in various roles and have worked as a tutor and primary school teacher. I have experience from EYFS (Year R) to GCSE level including preparation for exams.

I also have a BSc (Hons) in Psychology with modules in Developmental Psychology and an MA in Music (Performance).

Abigail has been helping my Son with his GCSE`s Maths, as he felt, there were several topics he was struggling with at School. Abigail is encouraging and supportive and has helped tailor lessons to the topics my Son needed and he is benefiting as a result. Although lessons are online due to the location distance, this hasn`t hampered how productive the lessons have been. We have been very pleased with how things have progressed.

Abigail has been a real find. From the start she assessed my five year olds learning ability , to understand what areas he needs help with. She is great at thinking of fun ways of engaging him in his lesson. She is warm and friendly and children are drawn to her.
