I am a passionate and dedicated student, who has just finished A-Levels in English, Maths and History and is currently holding an offer to read History at Oxford next year. Having achieved all grade 9s at GCSE, I wish to share the skills and experience I have picked up from revising for exams with other students between 11+ and GCSE. I am confident in tutoring both English and Maths up to GCSE level, as well as providing advice on essay technique in other essay-based subjects.

My tutoring sessions will be focussed on each individual student to best support the areas they struggle with. For Maths, sessions will likely be structured around topic questions, in order to develop methods and techniques that students can continue to use when faced with that topic again. I will provide notes and resources for the student, as well as helping them find the best ways to revise and consolidate what we have covered. For English, I will ensure that each lesson is focussed on whatever area support is needed within the subject, for instance comprehension skills, creative writing or poetry analysis. My sessions will aim to support work completed in class, such as reviewing longer answers, creative writing and essays to improve and develop a strong technique. I will also support the student with papers, and work with them to create individual revision methods and exam technique. Ultimately, listening to the student’s concerns will be at the forefront of any session to ensure that they get the most out of their learning and hopefully find a passion for these subjects like I have.

Experience: I am a very hardworking student, who has been through the exam process (both entrance exams and public exams) very recently, consistently achieving top marks. This experience has allowed me to refine my revision and exam skills, which I would love to share through tutoring. I also have experience teaching; as a keen debater, over the last few years at my school, I have been helping those younger than me with their debating skills. Through this, I learnt the importance of patience and listening when it comes to explaining something difficult, a methodology that will be at the forefront of my tutoring sessions.
