Information about Ayesha

A second medical student studying at UCL who is a caring, ambitious and determined individual with a strong love for learning. I am an enthusiastic person who loves to teach others in order to improve their academic performance to increase their future prospects. I am committed to helping students as much as I possibly can by going above and beyond such as making extra resources of practice questions, recommending websites and videos specifically found to tailor each individual student`s learning.

Willing to travel: 5 miles

Experience: GCSE mentor
A Level mentor-chemistry, biology, psychology

During my GCSE years, I mentored my peers in Sociology, English, Geography and all 3 sciences to improve their performance in lessons and in their exams. By using methods such as diagrams, demonstrations and using real world examples, I was able to simplify complex concepts to my peers to increase their understanding. Furthermore, I aided in their improvement of exam performance by teaching key exam techniques, such as use of keywords, to satisfy examiners and strict mark schemes. I also made additional practice questions and reviewed them with my mentees to discuss their mistakes. The peers I mentored showed improvements in their understanding of the content and their exam performance.
As a second year A Level student, I tutored first year students in all 3 of my subjects, again simplifying complex concepts. Additionally, I aided my peers within my lessons to improve their understanding of the content, especially within my chemistry lessons which earned me `Student of the Year` for Chemistry. My teacher described me as being extremely helpful within my lessons when it came ot helping my classmates in understanding both theory and practical work
Currently, I am an academic lead within my course, which entails designing tutorials and presenting them to first year students to help them understand difficult topics, as well as overseeing other tutors who will also deliver tutorials within the module.
