Information about Emily

Teaching in the top international schools within Asia, and holding a Masters`s degree in Educational Psychology, has led me to foster a teaching pedagogy that combines both education and psychology. Psychology gives education the theory of individual differences that every child has different mental abilities and learns at a varied pace. Not only this, but the process of learning, which is the ability to store and retain knowledge, can only happen when information is stored in long-term memory, rather than lost in working memory. New information and concepts are more likely to be stored in the long-term memory through techniques such as; reducing cognitive overload, using different stimuli during the lessons, physical movement, and connecting the material to real-life contexts. Making sure that students enjoy the lesson and have fun should also be at the forefront of all learning.

Availability: Currently, I am working as a year 4 Primary School Teacher so I am available most weekdays, as well as weekends throughout the day.

- Used an algorithm that evaluated teachers based on their student engagement, lesson delivery, and effective use of questioning to promote critical thinking. Suggestions would then be given to the teacher to implement in their lessons and follow up on how effective the suggestions were in their lesson.

Whales English, Online ESL Tutor | October 2019 - February 2021

- Taught Science, English, and Phonics to Chinese students from beginner to advanced levels.

Key achievements
- Prompted to lesson evaluator after a short time with the school.
