Information about Kanika

I have always been passionate about English and have studied it up to degree level also doing further learning and completing a TEFL course so that I am able to deliver another dynamic to my tutoring. I would like to pass on my love of the subject to the pupils that I tutor and help them in any way I can to achieve a high standard.

Working in the primary school setting it has connected me with Maths in such a big way. The techniques that have been developed are engaging and I find it a great subject to tutor. I definitely think that Maths is a key subject for keeping the mind active and focused. I have always been a dedicated and hard-working individual who is able to communicate with people of all ages and backgrounds and in a variety of situations.

A quality that I possess is being a people person and this is an attribute that I think is also important when you are in this profession. Showing that you can fully engage with the person that you are tutoring as well as the subject. Looking forward to meeting you and helping you progress towards your targets!

Experience: I have worked as a tutor for the past two years and thoroughly enjoy the work that I do. Becoming a tutor grew from working as a teaching assistant in various primary schools and I wanted to do the work I did in the classroom on a more in depth scale.

Being in the school environment means that I am used to and comfortable working with students of all abilities. In my current position I work at a school with a student on the autistic spectrum, one to one, preparing and delivering all of his core subjects.

I like to involve parents as much as possible throughout the entire process and include elements such a copy of the lesson plan every week so that parents can follow what we work on.
