Information about Victorua

I have been working within education for the past 9 years. I am a fully qualified teacher (QTS) and have been teaching for the past 6 years in various subjects and roles. I am an A-level Psychology specialist but have also taught a range of other subjects such as A-Level Health & Social Care, GCSE Health & Social Care, GCSE Science and a range of KS3 subjects. My recent A-level results for Psychology have seen students within my cohort achieve 100% A* to C grades.

I also have excellent experience teaching children with Special Educational Needs, having spent time working within a specialized ASD school and devising a specialist curriculum within a mainstream secondary school for those students with SEN. I have also been Head of Year and strategic lead for attendance for the past three years.

Availability: I am available:

Day times- Wednesday- Friday
Evenings- Possibly but would prefer daytimes, contact me to discuss availability.

Willing to travel: 10 miles

Experience: My diverse range of teaching experience has built a strong platform from which to tutor. My personal philosophy for education is that teaching should not adopt a "one size fits all" approach. Teaching should be personalized and tailored to an individual students needs, in order to empower them to reach their full potential.

This is particularly vital for student success, even more so with the current COVID pandemic. With the current uncertainty around examinations due to COVID and the important fact that students have received virtual lessons for the majority of their Psychology courses. I understand the importance of supporting students through these difficult times, providing personalised tutoring plans with consideration for student well-being and mental health.

My approach would be to identify any gaps within a students knowledge and within their skill set (AO1, AO2 and AO3). Through this, a tutoring plan can be devised and established between the student and myself, which is tailored to their specific needs and well-being during this stressful period. While also focusing on examination technique and practice. With the aim of increasing confidence and ability within Psychology ready for examinations in the summer 2022 or possible re-sits this autumn 2021.

I am happy to provide online tutoring through the free online platform of Microsoft Teams. I am also happy to offer 1-1 in person tutoring which adheres to COVID safeguarding.

If you have any questions regarding the support I can provide please do not hesitate to contact me and ask.
