Dear Parents, Guardians and Students,

I am a full time English Teacher in West London, with a Masters in Teaching from the University College London (UCL), with a focus on English Language and Literature. I am currently responsible for KS3 English; I have lead experience within English and whole school.

Education is a vital aspect to succeed; it provides one with knowledge and key skills. For me, learning is never ending; I am keen on developing my understanding of educational issues through critical reading and through practical classroom experience.

I am fluent in English and Panjabi, with a good understanding and ability to communicate in Urdu and Hindi.

Availability: I am available Monday to Friday evenings and some weekend mornings.

Experience: I have been in the Education sector for over 6 years, with experience in group tutoring, one-to-one tutoring and teaching in inner London secondary schools.

Through my vast experience I have taught a range of subjects, including Maths and Science at Primary level and English and Media Studies at all levels.

Previously as a Teaching Assistant, I worked closely with pupils with specific learning and behaviour needs. Ensuring each child’s needs were identified and methods and resources were used for them to reach their full potential.

As a qualified teacher I have worked in many schools around West London; this includes 4 ‘Outstanding’ schools and many ‘Good’ schools (Oftsed rating). I have taught a range of abilities and needs, all through various methods.

I am able to teach a range of texts for GCSE and A-Level English, Media Studies and Film Studies, for various examining boards. This can include focusing on essay structures, answering difficult exam questions, writing skills, revising key texts or even building upon a pupil’s grammar skills.

For pupils in Key Stage 3, I am able to cater to their needs, or I can build upon vital skills needed for their GCSE examination. For example, analysing an extract from a fiction text - this includes selecting key quotations, identifying techniques and being able to confidently write about it clearly.

Currently I am responsible for KS3 English; I do have experience of leading A-level Media Studies and whole school responsibilities
