Information about Jaymee
I am an Oxford University graduate with a Double First Class Masters in Chemistry (Hons). I am a fully qualified teacher, having trained at Imperial College London, and have held teaching posts at private schools, state schools and sixth form colleges. I have 10 years of tutoring experience, teaching all levels and ages with a particular emphasis on the Sciences and Mathematics at A Level and GCSE. I have extensive experience tutoring for the 7+, 11+, 13+, Common Entrance and London Independent School Entrance Exams, as well as for Oxbridge applications. I also have a First Class Masters from the Royal College of Music and teach the flute and piano. I am currently undertaking doctoral research at University College London in Computational Physics.
I am happy to teach, at short notice, specific areas of the A level Chemistry, Physics and Maths/Further Maths courses (including the applied modules: statistics, decision and mechanics).
Undergraduate Level: If you would like Chemistry tuition at undergraduate level, please discuss your needs with me through the website`s messaging system. My specialism is in Theoretical Chemistry, and teaching physical/theoretical chemistry is my focus. Undergraduate Organic/Inorganic Chemistry tuition is also available, although some advance notice of topics to be covered is helpful in these cases. Examples of the main topics I teach include:
Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry for Biologists
Mathematics for Science (partial differential equations, multivariate calculus, matrix algebra, Fourier analysis etc.),
Reaction Kinetics and Molecular Dynamics,
Symmetry and Group Theory,
When I am tutoring, I aim to provide clarity as well as bringing the subject material to life. Being flexible, and catering to the different learning styles of my students is really important to me, but within this I will still maintain a systematic and methodical approach to the learning process. For example, in a typical lesson, I will discuss some relevant theory with the student, resolving any misconceptions and identifying any areas of confusion. Then, I will work through a carefully selected problem with them, guiding them step by step through to the answer, which has the dual purpose of providing them with a worked solution that they can use for revision purposes. Finally, I will give my student a few similar questions to tackle under my supervision, until they are able to solve the problems independently.
Most of my students are taught on a weekly basis for 90 or 120 minutes, depending on what is required. Work between my sessions is an essential way of consolidating the material covered in my sessions. Normally, this will consist of a few exam problems that focus on further application of relevant theory. I will always prioritise quality over quantity when it comes to setting homework, as I am very aware that the student will already have an existing school workload and possible sport/musical commitments.
Self-motivation and willingness to work hard outside as well as in my sessions will ensure the success that my students aspire to.
Availability: Anytime, weekdays and weekends

Experience: Over 10 years, I have tutored all levels and ages with a particular emphasis on the Sciences and Mathematics at A Level and GCSE. I have held teaching posts at private schools, state schools and sixth form colleges, and have extensive experience tutoring for the 7+, 11+, 13+, Common Entrance and London Independent School Entrance Exams, as well as for Oxbridge applications.
This experience has allowed me to develop my one to one tutoring style, as has my own personal experience of tutorials at Oxford, where I was fortunate enough to be taught by many gifted academics.

Feedback For Jaymee (7)
Jaymee is a fantastic tutor, I thoroughly recommend him.
Great tutor! Jaymee provided lots of questions for me to do in preparation for my Maths, Further Maths and Physics A-Levels. If I struggled on anything or got something wrong, he would take the time to talk me through it and explain. Would recommend!
Jaymee was professional and very helpful for my son who had a last minute chemistry GCSE revision class with him. Hes more expensive than other tutors but worth it
Excellent chemistry support for my son`s uni entrance
I am working with this tutor for a combination of my Chemistry A-Level and the Chemistry competitions that my school puts on. He is incredible. If you want to stretch yourself, he is definitely the person to go to. He knows much more than the standard A-Level syllabus and will happily delve into, for example, how the atomic structure of carbon makes certain carbocation intermediates more or less likely to form. I look forward to our lessons every week.

Jaymee has been tutoring our 8 year old son since since the start of the year. Jaymee is a delightful young man. He`s very professional, friendly, always prompt and very polite. He`s very hard working as showcased by his previous qualifications from Oxford University and his current endeavours at the Royal College of Music. Apart from being an excellent tutor for our son, he is also brilliant role model to him. We are so pleased he was able to fit us in to his extremely busy schedule! We cannot recommend him enough.
In the short space of time that Jaymee has been teaching my children, he has made a very positive impact on their approach to learning. He is enthusiastic and punctual with a professional attitude to teaching. His own academic achievements are a source of inspiration to my children. On his first visit, he devised effective learning strategies for the academic year ahead and set high standards of work with a confident and approachable manner. My children assure me that they enjoy the fast pace of his lessons and that he is very motivating and encouraging. I would have no hesitation to recommend Jaymee as a tutor of Maths and Sciences.
