Information about Andrew

I have been tutoring for 6 years and have a passion for teaching. Prior to tutoring, I had a successful career in IT Management and Information Security.

I teach GCSE Mathematics at a London school.

I am told by my students that I am friendly, flexible, approachable and a good communicator. I pride myself in getting a good rate of progress even in a short period of time.

I am committed to assisting students to meet their potential and offer a fully customised service. I work with younger children through GCSE and `A` level students to mature students. Due to being a mature man, I feel in a position to provide additional help in the area of motivation and mentoring.

I believe that all students benefit from being taught in a one to one environment, even those students that do not thrive in a classroom situation.

Lessons are totally based on the need of the individual student and my preference is to bring the knowledge out of a student rather than lecturing them. Guiding and assisting them to discover things for themselves.

Please contact me to discuss you requirements, I am confident that I can help.

Availability: For the immediate term, I will be making myself available for tutoring 7 days, so my availability is very high.

General availability includes evenings and weekends.

I will be on half term from Friday 12th February. I currently have plenty of availability from Monday 15th to Friday 19th February.

Please contact me to discuss possibilities, you will find me flexible to suit where-ever possible.

Willing to travel: 10 miles

Experience: Experienced tutor in mathematics, computer science and sciences.

A mature man with extensive experience in IT Management and business.

Qualifications include first class honours degree and a masters degree from UCL.

Most of my students are at GCSE level. Although I have tutored a wide range of different students with different aptitudes towards the subject. One of my students recently improved from grade 3 level to grade 7 in his mocks with 8 lessons, showing a dramatic improvement.

One of my 14 year old students took her GCSE examination in June 2020.

I am enthusiastic, hardworking and cannot wait to share my love for my subjects with you!

My son is always very happy to have Maths GCSE lessons with Andrew. Luckily even when Andrew expects a lot from my son he feels capable and challenge not overwhelmed. Andrew prepares his lessons which is a relief for my son as he likes a change from keep going over things from his own portfolio.

Not good enough to teach GCSE computer science. Mr Andrew wanted more time to prepare for his next lesson as clearly his knowledge about this subject isn’t up to scratch

Happy so far. On time, ready to work with my son. However, to see some structure. I thought he would provide worksheets of KS2, possible KS3 to challenge my son, every so often, test/papers, timing him, testing on his Xs tables, marking his work, papers, homework, etc. And not me having to suggest it to him. Perhaps, Andrew can put that in place so that my son has a clear structure when he meets with Andrew. And I will feel more confident that he is get what he needs....he has a Banding test tomorrow. I hope these past weeks has helped. Kind Regards. Mrs Peace.

Wonderful tutor. Very attentive. I am an adult student with dyscalculia and Andrew has been extremely patient. He repeats patiently until i understand. Breaks down concepts slowly. Tailors our sessions to my individual needs.

We met Andrew 8 weeks ago through the tutor hunt website and everything went smooth and efficient right from the start from the initial email exchanges to the first lesson for my daughter`s GCSE Maths tutoring. Now a few weeks later, both are already a very good team and Andrew`s clear and precise teaching style as well as his knowledge regarding the GCSE exams techniques is just what we needed. And with all this, they also have a good laughter once in a while during the session which is important too.

Mr Andrew is an exceptional tutor, he has taken time and care to create lessons plans, taking into account how my son learns.
He is clear, fantastically passionate about his subjects along with making the lessons engaging. My son can already see the progress in year 9 . We agree Mr Andrew is brilliant and we are very lucky to have found him.

Andrew has tutored three of my children for some time now. One child for the 11 Plus examination (English, Mathematics, NVR & VR) and two other children in Mathematics. His tutoring methods include a high degree of one to one communication undertaken in an informative, but informal and fun manner. This has proved to be highly effective with my children, who have progressed significantly. He also sets regularly homework which is very useful and productive. Andrew has an excellent rapport will all of my children. He is a very nice gentleman, who cares about the children, their development and their understanding their subject. I highly recommend this tutor.
