Information about Chris
I am a graduate of Cambridge University and have been working as a tutor for the past 2 years. As well as developing a wealth of experience, have loved every minute of it. I`ve always loved working with other people in whatever I do, whether its in sport, music or acting (my biggest side passion). I find it endlessly challenging and entertaining to understand and work with others` perspectives.
This has been one of the most unexpected and engaging elements of tutoring. Thinking about a familiar problem from a unique perspective always produces surprisingly (and weirdly!) brilliant responses from each student. This is fundamentally why tutoring can be such a powerful, important force in students` lives. At its core, it builds a student`s confidence and belief in their own opinion and skill, and often leads to academic independence. It offers a unique opportunity to engage with students in a tailored, non-patronising and incredibly productive way.
I can bring enthusiasm, a comfortable learning environment and a creative re-interpretation of academic material to suit the students` individual needs. Students often can`t establish what could be improved about their work, and so I have unique methods to identify these areas and challenge students to push themselves on them. I give tasks outside of lesson hours and encourage a `little and often` approach, frequently tricking them into doing work that would have initially disgusted them! I really hope I get the chance to work with you or your family member.

Feedback For Chris (12)
The tutor is super informative and easygoing.
Chris has only been tutoring my 14 year old for the last 3 weeks but early signs are very positive. He is responsive, punctual and good at engaging kids so that learning is fun and not a chore
Chris is a very encouraging Tutor. He has empathy with those that need that extra confidence.
Chris is tutoring both my son (yr5) and daughter (yr3) in maths and they both thoroughly enjoy his sessions. Chris makes maths fun and engaging, he takes his direction from me or the kids and uses real-world/fun examples to bring it to life.
Chris travels to us which makes logistics easier for me and has always turns up on time.
Chris has only recently started tutoring my children (age 13 and 10) so it is premature to give a proper feedback. Saying this, since we started few weeks ago, I can see they both look forward for their sessions with Chris as he engages well with them, friendly but professional, managing well the time for the lessons and able to switch from a subject to another. My son feels he found a tutor able to understand him, humorous but able to explain things well. My daughter was much more serene after her Maths session before the coming test as she found Chris very clear and easy to understand too. I am happy to review the feedback in few months, hopefully with more details.
fab tutor, extremely helpful. Really helped me pass my year! Thanks a million Chris!
Recently Chris is started teaching my son who is in Y10 and his teaching skills are very good and my son is enjoying it
Chris tutored my son in English language, English Literature and in the run up to the exams he also gave some tuition for History and RE.
In just a few months he took him from averaging B or C grades in English to achieving A and A* in the 2016 GCSE exams. My son even obtained an A* on the English Lit poetry paper which he still cannot believe was possible.
Chris is a highly personable and caring individual with a flair for communicating sophisticated and abstract concepts in a way that makes them easy for his students to understand.
My son really enjoyed studying with him and ultimately the results he helped my son achieve are the evidence of his talent and ability as a tutor.
Of course Chris himself also has a 1st class academic track record and I think having experience of getting the top grades puts him in a very strong position to guide his own students towards those levels.
I would not hesitate to recommend him as a Tutor.
Chris tutored my son Jaime for his English GCSE.
Chris was very pleasant, reliable and thorough, he was always well prepared for each lesson and sent my son a follow up after each lesson via e-mail.
Jaime has short term memory problems, Chris was very patient and found ways to help him with this.
I wish I had found Chris earlier as he has been the best tutor I have had for my son.
I would highly recommend him.
Chris is a wonderful tutor, always well prepared for each lesson, reliable, punctual and very personable.Chris would send notes and homework via e-mail after each lesson as well.I would highly recommend Chris.
Chris is a very enthusiastic knowledgeable teacher who has a great engaging passion for teaching History and English Lit. He helped my daughter on both subjects to meet her GCSE`s grade targets and gain confidence with his help beyond the expectation.
Punctual, reliable and very supportive.
I highly recommend him.
Thank you Chris and Tutor Hunt
Chris is a wonderful and inspiring tutor. My son hated literacy prior to working with Chris. Only this morning, my son asked for a notebook so he could start writing a story! This would never have happened before Chris.
