Information about Kirsten

Hi! My name is Kirsten, I am a BSc Psychology 2:1 graduate (Bristol), and graduate in MSc Clinical Neuropsychiatry (Birmingham). I am currently studying Graduate Medicine at the University of Warwick.
I am looking for A-level tutoring roles, adult/undergraduate Psychology instruction and I can also teach for the medical entrance exams UKCAT and GAMSAT.
I am a confident, professional person who is outgoing and highly passionate about education. I believe in a tailored approach, and use alternate teaching styles to assist children for whom the classic school system just isn`t delivering their best!

I am currently looking to tutor from my home and have a slot available fortnightly on a Wednesday afternoon/evening.

FOR ONLINE TUTORING - please knock £2.50 per hour off the stated price.

I will happily provide one-off online sessions 30mins+ to cover individual topics or help with essays/revision. These sessions will be charged at £2.50 less per hour for all subjects. I can offer essay marking as an add-on service at £10 per paper (£30 for dissertation marking)
I will also happily do whole day sessions which so far most individuals have opted to use as multi-subject revision for upcoming exams.

I hold a current DBS certificate on the government update service open for general use and would be happy to supply this to parents/prospective tutees.

Availability: Flexible weekdays - (studying remotely)
Sundays morning and afternoon

Willing to travel: Home Only

Experience: I have a large amount of tutoring experience across age/qualification levels, with exceptional outcomes for my tutees in terms of results and confidence. I have had 16 tutees, all of whom improved by 2 grades or more under my tuition; one of whom achieved 98% in their Psychology A-level with a predicted grade of D, following combined Psychology and study skills tuition. I specialise particularly in adaptive tuition for children and young adults with diagnosed or suspected dyslexia, ADHD or ADD with many past success stories. I am also more than happy to work with ASC, Tourette, OCD or other developmental syndrome sufferers.
In the current climate remote learning is necessary for most and I have 4 previous A-level tutees receiving sessions in this format all who received their first choice university places.

During my time at school I was an instructor in the cadets, teaching basic first aid, shooting and RAF syllabus for 3 years to cadets aged 12-18. I subsequently returned and spent a year as an adult instructor in both the CCF and outdoor education department.

I also have work experience in nursery settings and previous volunteer experience working at a special needs preschool in Cheltenham. My degree specialty is in dyslexia and I am able to provide tailored material, techniques and specialist guidance for individuals with this educational need. My MSc course involves behavioural interventions and clinical understanding of a wide range of neuropsychiatric conditions that require additional educational input.

I offer tailored tutoring plans for every student and a wide variety of online study resources personalised for your learning needs.
