I am an experienced, enthusiastic and friendly Psychology teacher. My aim is to prepare students for success in their Psychology exams, whilst also promoting a love of learning for this fascinating subject, and developing independent learning skills.

My tutoring sessions take place online. I begin by establishing the areas of the course in which the student needs support and what they would ultimately like to achieve. Tutoring sessions will then be tailored to the individual needs of the student, but will usually include:
- introducing or revising topics from the course,
- a range of activities to improve understanding of the topics.

Crucially, I will also focus on exam technique, including:
- helping to interpret exam questions,
- marking and giving feedback on exam answers,
- providing model answers,
- guidance on using examiners mark schemes.

My approach is very supportive and I aim to develop a positive working relationship with all of my students. I focus on taking the overwhelm out of preparing for exams by breaking down studying into small, manageable tasks. Whilst providing challenge, I also encourage students to feel comfortable about making mistakes - as this is an excellent way to learn and progress!

Availability: For online lessons I am available Monday - Friday day times between 8am and 1.30pm and evenings between 7pm and 9pm.
I can also usually offer weekend lessons.

Experience: I have a degree in Psychology and 15 years experience as a Psychology classroom teacher. I have taught GCSE, A-level and IB Diploma Psychology. I have also worked as an A-level examiner.

In addition, I have many years experience of working as a Form Tutor with Year 12 and 13 students and have an extensive knowledge of the challenges and difficulties that students can face when preparing for exams. I am therefore well placed to provide support.
