Experience: I hold a BSc (Hons) in Psychology (Open), an MSc in Evolutionary Psychology (Brunel), and a PhD (Stirling). I began my teaching career as a teaching assistant during my PhD at the University of Stirling. I taught at Stirling for 3 years, after which I acquired a permanent academic position at the University of Northampton (UON). Over the past 4+ years at UON, I have taught thousands of students across a wide variety of undergraduate and postgraduate psychology modules, from UG modules such as Introduction to Psychology (yr1), Becoming a Psychologist (yr1), Biological Psychology (yr2), Research Methods &; Data Analysis (yr2), The Human Animal (evolutionary psychology, yr2) to more advanced modules such as Cognitive and Biological Psychology &; Neuroscience (MSc) and Conceptual &; Historical Issues in Psychology (MSc). I was the module coordinator for several year 1 and year 2 modules and thus have deep experience of developing assessments (e.g. essays and exams) and the corresponding assignment briefs and marking criteria, and I have marked thousands of submissions across the wide variety of psychology modules and topics. In addition, I have been the personal tutor for over 40 UG students and supervised each of them to successful completion of their UG dissertation projects, and I also supervised two PG students to completion of their master`s dissertation projects.
Based on my background and experience, I can be very helpful in tutoring both UG and PG psychology students to help them acquire increased understanding of the topics, improved psychology writing and analytical skills, clearer understanding of assignments, and improved outcomes for assessments and subsequent grades.
