Information about Emily
I am a fun, enthusiastic and experienced teacher. I have been teaching for 8 years and have extensive experience of the both the independent and state sector. I currently working at a very successful independent school in South West London where I am working within a KS1 setting.
I am originally from Derby and moved to London with my husband for a new job opportunity 4 years ago. I love keeping fit and regularly exercise. I am part of a local netball team where I play weekly matches. I also enjoy circuit training and runs around the common. My husband is a big rugby fan and we regularly go and watch Harlequins and England play. I also enjoy socialising with friends, eating out and losing myself in a good book or film.

I am available for lessons throughout the week from 5pm (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday) and during the day throughout school holidays.

Please note, I am now generally seeing students at my home as this is more beneficial for most childrens focus and learning and also allows me to accommodate more sessions.

Experience: I studied my undergraduate degree at Manchester Metropolitan University gaining a 2:1 in Sport, Exercise and Coaching Science. I then worked in accounts for a few years before studying a PGCE at the University of Derby.
I have been teaching for 9 years and have a thorough understanding of the Primary National Curriculum and the required content throughout the Early Years Foundation Stage, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. I have worked at a number of state primary schools in the Midlands and London before moving into the independent sector. I have recently taught at a number of highly competitive independent schools across South West London gaining a sound understanding of the 7+, 10+ and 11+ process.
I have been a private tutor for over 5 years tutoring children who require extra support within English and Maths as well extending children who are identified as gifted and talented. I have also tutored children through the 10+ and 11+ process, with them all successfully gaining entry to their desired school(s) of choice.
I offer the first lesson free to compensate for the website charge and to allow you to make sure you are completely happy with the service that I provide.
I have a number of references available upon request and I have a full and up to date DBS (CRB) certificate.
