I am an approachable, passionate and enthusiastic tutor from South East London. I have a degree in Economics, Politics and Philosophy (BA) from the University of Warwick, and I worked at Explore Learning as a Maths, English and 11+ tutor. I have worked with students of all age-ranges, abilities and confidence levels over the last two years to great success, and I am passionate about helping my students get the best results they can!

I worked at Explore Learning in Greenwich for over four months, and taught two 11+ classes per week. I am used to working with kids of all ages to help them achieve their goals in Maths, English and taking the 11+ exam! Owing to my degree in PPE, I also tutor Politics and Economics up to A-Level standard, and have had several successful students who got their desired place at university.
Keeping you in the loop:
With all of my students I ensure that parents and guardians are kept up to date on the progress we are making. With younger kids we often demonstrate skills we learned in the session to you at the end! This helps solidify knowledge and keeps everybody on the same page. Clarity in where we are and what our next steps will be is vital at all academic level, and it gives you peace of mind!
At KS3/2 and 11-plus level I work primarily using bond books, and after appraising your child`s level and dusting up on some key skills I implement a structure learning program to prepare them for their exam, or help them achieve the best results they can in their school assessments. I am experienced teaching students ages 4-19 and so I can quickly adapt to different attainment levels across subject areas. I find that all of my students, regardless of their current grades, have outstanding ability. At this age confidence is key - and I take pleasure in showing my students just how capable they are, and just how quickly they can learn new skills they once found daunting.
At A-level I take a structured approach, including helping my students finish their notes, explaining key topics in the most simplistic ways, and helping them to structure their essays to A* standard. My thorough and engaging approach means that my students find me relatable and easy to work with, while I help them do the absolute best they can in their exam.

Feedback For Martin (1)
Martin is everything you can ask for in a tutor and I don`t believe there`s anyone else that would`ve been able to have such a significant positive effect on my `A` level Politics and Economics studies. From day one, he came fully prepared and planned lessons were based around areas where I felt I needed most focus, enabling me to improve as fast as possible. It`s clear that Martin is a tutor who genuinely cares about his student`s progression, from personal experience, we would often run over-time in order to finish whatever we were covering so we could come to a natural conclusion. Martin also put together an effective revision routine before each exam. This gave me a solid structure on the best way to use my time when it is scarce and each minute counts. Although it may be secondary, Martin is also a guy who is very easy to get along with, which made my revision sessions as bearable as they can be! Martin once said to me that he aims to be all that he wanted in a tutor when he was younger, and there`s no doubt that this ambition has been fulfilled. He has given me the best chance of achieving my target of A`s, and I wouldn`t have been able to do it without him, due to him being essential to the study progression that I made over that time period.
