I am a highly dedicated and experienced primary school teacher, and I strive to see both progress and confidence develop in the children I teach. I have a First Class Honours Degree and currently work in an Outstanding school, and have taught Year 6 for the last 4 years.
My personal goal is not only to improve a childs academic attainment but - through support, praise, and carefully planned sessions - to give each child a greater belief in their own capabilities and, crucially, their ability to access new future challenges more independently with confidence and resilience.
I believe that it is through this confidence that children are truly prepared to move through the stages of school life and learning, giving them greater personal and academic outcomes. Over the years, through careful teaching, it has been wonderful to see children become more inquisitive and resilient learners.
I am happy to teach children in their own home or from my house. This choice is yours; however, I sincerely believe children learn better in an environment they are familiar with and, for this reason, I am happy to travel.
Availability: I am available any weekday during term time, after 5pm.
I am currently available for online tutoring sessions; however, I will not be able to work for the month of September 2020.

Experience: I have taught all subjects within a wide range of year groups and cohorts, enabling me to draw on a variety of methods and strategies, which meet the needs of all children. As I have been a Year 6 SATs teacher for the past 4 years, I have particular experience in developing childrens skills in Maths, Writing and Reading.
As well as my experience in the classroom, I have also worked as a tutor, and am skilled at tailoring lessons and learning to ensure each child I teach reaches their potential. To achieve this, I constantly assess my students understanding and instantly respond in a way which moves learning forward. Due to this assessment, I continually adapt my teaching or resources to meet individual needs, often taking time to create specific, tailored provisions.
I place great importance, not only on the child understanding the steps needed to solve a question, but also on how deeply a child understands the concept behind what they are being taught be it grammatical or mathematical. All my planning is focussed around this goal, with careful consideration paid to the order of the objectives I teach, ensuring the concepts gradually build and deepen in their complexities. Such teaching means that long after their taught sessions are over, children will still retain their new skills and are able to apply them independently and in a range of ways.
