Why choose Home Tutoring?

More families are finding that their children benefit significantly from having a friendly and approachable tutor to assist with specific learning problems (however small or large, they may be!) That is why so many of you are looking at this site and considering the option! An experienced tutor will be able to: Assess and then `Tailor make` or personalise the learning for their new pupil, having diagnosed all specific areas upon their first visit, usually! The children need to feel very comfortable about having a home tutor to visit, too in the very first instance!

Being in a home learning environment; is less formal and much quieter than the often frustrating and disruptive confines of a busy school.

Learning difficulties are often un-diagnosed and not fully addressed within some primary and Senior Schools.

An experienced One to One Tutor should be able to detect difficulties; and then advise families concerning any issues. Then carefully make suitable learning plans for each pupil and their subject specific, individual needs. Often providing some learning resources, to suit those specific needs.

Also: to provide reassurance and encouragement, about specific study problems, exam tension etc., (on a regular basis)

In School Today: Teachers have too many targets/assessments/ADMIN!., and are often unable to devote enough time to focus on - ALL their individual learners needs; as much as any dedicated teacher would truly wish to! This is evident when we watch the TV High School, reality documentary (portrayed in Educating Essex/ Yorkshire) recently! The programme is to be commended for showing the public how difficult learning and teaching is today; also importantly how much pressure all young people/teachers are under:

Due to continual assessing and constant government changes to the examination system and it`s processes. School is becoming more and more complex as an environment to study and for all to achieve their highest potential, within!

One to One Tutoring works well, for all, how can it?

As an experienced professional, working within senior schools and colleges/homes (delivering One to One Tutoring) These are my thoughts and observations: For pupils (varying abilities) taken OUT of the classroom environment: I see a very significant improvement to many individual exam performance/results/ and CONFIDENCE boost This can happen over short periods of ten sessions, in some instances! Even with very difficult to reach learners, who may have missed out on the basics in their early education (or may have specific learning difficulties) that follow them to High School. This is where a dedicated, professional personal tutor IS able to assist, within the home (or at school) Carefully selected and chosen by the family and/or pupil, where possible.

Education and learning today is often challenging, complex and does have many barriers for some; their exam time is more stressful for all parties involved. Particularly NOW, with more reliance on formal exams: and less course work assessing for final grading.

ALL children have great potential and deserve to be encouraged and assisted to achieve their very best, with help from professionals and family. A suitably selected One to One Tutor/Private Tutor will be able to address some or all of these concerns; for a pupil and advise their family/carers of personal learning progress, in a One To One setting. Very much seen as a compliment or enhancement to the rest of the learning received, within school and at home. So, if you are not sure about One to One Tutoring or private home tuition: Maybe this will assist you a little to offer some advice, information and reassurance ?
