1) Know what is expected of you. This can be done by reading the specification and going through the textbook. You should know what you are expected to be able to do.

2) Understand the method. In mathematics, if you understand the method and why you are carrying out a particular step, any question becomes much easier.

3) Identify what your weaknesses are and work on them. Studying topics which you find easy will not be of much benefit to you. You need to identify what you are not so good at and work on strengthening it.

4) Do plenty of questions and past papers. With mathematics, practice is quintessential to success. Knowing an algorithm is one thing, but being able to implement it correctly is another. Do lots of questions until you become confident in answering them.

5) Check your answers thoroughly and check if your answer is realistic. Make sure that your answer agrees with any information you have been given.
