When studying for your GCSEs you have a great deal of stress and worry to overcome because of the number of subjects that you have. Not only do you have to navigate through all of these subjects but you have to balance coursework and essays with the exams that you have to take in some subjects. It becomes difficult to prioritise and manage your time.

The best thing to do, and this works for most subjects, is to sit down with the exam criteria (or grade descri ptors) for the grade that you want to achieve. This will be a list of things that you need to be able to do in order to be of a, for example, `C Grade` level. This way you can check off what you can do and highlight what you still find challenging to make sure that you use your time to the best advantage.

Some of the resources that I would provide you with would help to assess the knowledge that you have and highlight the areas that you particularly need to develop so that your time can be focused by your target grade and what you need to learn.

A further thing that you can do in maths to help with this is to look at where individual subjects fit into the wider curriculum. Maths is split up into four areas: Number (fractions, decimals etc.), Shape, Space and Measure (area, volume), Statistics (graphs, probability) and Algebra. Most people naturally find one or more of these groups much easier than the others and can say right off the bat one that they really struggle with. This can really help build confidence as lots of the time you are much better at things within these groups than you think you are!
