My first teaching post was in 1993 and since then I have demonstrated to teach Maths across the full age range -from the age of 8 up to 18 (in my country Bulgaria) and in UK from KS1 up to KS4/KS5. My time as a teacher and tutor has given me 18 years of teaching experience in which I have fully demonstrated a commitment to the ethos of educational excellence.

As well as explaining how given concept or technique may be applied to a real world situation, I also emphasise when a given technique could, and should, be used. In applications ( and often on quiz and exam questions) , the students are explicitly told which mathematical device will be most helpful, so in demonstrating why a particular technique is effective, I try to give an overview of other situations in which it may be applied so that the students will recognise them when they see them. I also emphasise that many questions may be approached using multiple methods, all of which lead to the same result if done correctly, and while some may be more elegant than others, the choice of which method to use is a matter of personal preference. It is important to me to know that the students are learning the material, and I use a variety of methods to assess how well they understand what is going on. While explaining a concept or demonstrating a sample problem during a lesson , I often seek input from the students on how they think the concept works or how the solution should proceed, and encourage them to ask questions if they do not understand a particular idea. I have consistently had good results through high expectations of my pupils, and have highly popular at each school taught at for my exciting personality yet firm application of standards. I tailor lessons and resources to the learning style of the pupils, and make sure that each pupil has a good grasp of the fundamentals in order to fully understand and appreciate the subject at top level, engaging them and allowing them to retain information and skills easily.

I treat them with lots of understanding which helps to achieve better exam results I believe lessons should be informative, interesting and inspiring! I have success with examination techniques and how to help when struggling through a topic. I have prepared pupils for entry to independent and selective schools in London for 11+ examinations ( Maths, English, Verbal & Non- Verbal). I have had a great deal of success with all my pupils achieving entry into the school of their choice. This has been very rewarding for myself, and the pupils and their parents. My lessons are always child centred, being friendly and relaxed. I have a good selection of past papers and access to a vast amount of teaching resources. ( on 4th Jan,2011 one of my students received a full bursary in Hampton Boys' School). I like working with students and my motivation reflects on their attitude to studying Maths. I treat them with lots of understanding which helps to achieve better exam results.( One of my students passed his GCSE Maths Exam with A mark when he was in y10 ).

I have shown the ability to relate to people of all ages and different backgrounds , to deal tactfully, sympathetically and effectively with them , and help them to feel as comfortable in a strange and sometimes intimidating environment. I have shown the ability to be a good psychologist when dealing with students who have been bullied or humiliated ( I helped one of my students to prepare for her SATs exams from her home ) or having minor dyslexia ( Two of my students had problems with remembering the numbers , other swapped the position of the first and last letters and third made up new words when seeing the first letter only.) . I am very proud with the results of another student who passed his Maths GCSE Exam with B mark. Despite his learning difficulties due to his severe hearing impairment, I constantly enabled him to achieve grades beyond his projected levels.

A student of mine who had a gap year at University ( He had failed at A-level Maths), passed the exam with 83%.
