The Manhunt - Simon Armitage

An accessible poem which is great for introducing the theme of conflict. Manhunt highlights the long-lasting effects war has on people regardless of the outcome of the conflict.

Armitage takes on the persona of Laura, the wife of a British soldier, as he describes her experience of her husband’s return and the effect on their relationship due to the physical and mental scars that he bore.
