There is a direct and immediate threat to the planets ability to sustain the human population and that is the shortage of FRESH WATER.

Global warming , linked to the increase in the level of carbon dioxide and other green house gases, has caused the average temperature of the planet to increase by one to two degrees. This increase in temperature is not evenly spread and there are hot spots where there are large increases in temperature.

One example of such a hot spot is the Himalayas . Here the ultra high temperatures will eventually melt the Glaciers that feed the mighty rivers of China , India and Pakistan a region of the world that has a third of the planets population, The drying of the rivers will turn these "bread baskets" into deserts and the consequence will be mass migration , mass starvation and possibly a war between nuclear powers.

How are the Politian`s dealing with this looming disaster ? well they make non binding pledges to tinker around the edges of the main issues for example a key pledge was to move away from Fossil Fuels to Nuclear and renewables.

Since the start of the Ukraine conflict all pledgers have been put on hold and there has even been a move back to coal . What the world needs is a Global Solution to a global problem , countries must work together and commit funds. Recently we have seen a complete breakdown of glaobal cooperation between the worlds largest economies.

In short - WAR is bad for the environment ! Push for peace !
