The 11 plus
With 11+ exams coming up shortly , I can especially add value to improving the time and score of the Maths paper by sharing techniques and shortcuts perfected over the years.
GCSE and A Level : Maths and Science
My objective is to plug gaps in Knowledge and Improve exam technique in order to maximise exam performance.
My approach :
I assess all of my students and provide them with high-quality, clear, and specification-appropriate teaching materials. Lessons are always customised to the student`s specific needs. My lessons frequently incorporate succinct PowerPoint presentations and exam-style questions to help students apply relevant information and knowledge when answering exam questions.
Mock exams are seasonally administered to ensure that the student, parent(s) and I are all aware of the student’s progress. This allows me to identify the student’s areas of weakness and provide targeted additional support.
Many of my students go on to achieve exceptional grades. In the summer of 2019, 50% of my GCSE students achieved a grade 9, 20% achieved a grade 8 and 25% achieved a grade 7 (100% pass rate across all students and subjects). Similarly, many of my A-level students achieve A.A grades in their final summer A-level exams, qualifying them to study at prestigious universities and on competitive courses.
As an educator, my primary focus is on the final exam results; however, I place a great importance on developing and inspiring students` confidence and interest in their subject(s), as I have discovered that these factors significantly contribute to a student`s achievement.

My daughter has so far had 6 lessons with Mr Manir focusing on Key Stage 2 work. Mr Manir is a friendly, open and honest tutor. He provides support and guidance to me as a parent which is helpful. My daughter looks forward to the weekly lessons she is slowly getting comfortable with the lessons and the format. The tasks Mr Manir sets are both at her level and above to challenge her. We are also provided with homework for my daughter to get on with for the week. I look forward to seeing how my daughter progresses within her class and Eleven Plus.

My son is resitting his Maths GCSE exams now (early November’20) and we have used Manir for a few weeks. Manir is very good at improving the student’s confidence. He used a lot of his own teaching materials, especially to determine where there are gaps in the student’s knowledge. Manir also used previous exams papers. My son really liked working with Manir. The only reason I did not give full marks is that Manir sometimes was late or changed the agreed meeting time last minute.

I came to Manir near to my GCSE exams, when I struggling with Science and Maths. He managed to fit me into a busy schedule and significantly improved my understanding of key concepts to a point where I was confident with them. His input led me to achieve a Grade 7 in Combined Science and a Grade 6 in Maths, where previously I was nearer a Grade 5 for both.
Manir is an excellent tutor, who packs a lot of teaching and information into each lesson and explains difficult concepts in a simple way. Fully recommend him for both Science and Maths.

Manir was a great tutor for me. I came to him relatively close to my Accounting exam date , but Manir was organised and ensured that we covered the whole course in as much depth as was possible, given the short amount of time we had. He was very patient with me, as well as being constantly supportive and encouraging. He is also clearly very knowledgeable in his field and it was great to be provided with some real-life examples of the work I was studying to give to the topic more context and consolidate my learning.
I would definitely return to Manir for tutoring in the future if the need arose.
