Did you know, you don`t necessarily need to have the best grammar to be a good writer?

What is more important than anything else when you write is your intention. How do you want the reader to feel? What mood and atmosphere would you like your writing to create?

If you want your readers to feel pity, then you`ll use & emotive language that leaves the reader feeling sorry. For example, `The poor, desolate &child...` &or if you want your reader to feel horrified, you will use language such as, `an unimaginable sight that caused her body to become rigid and unresponsive, immediately`.

What`s my point? Powerful writing is all about being intentional with your language choices, particularly adjectives (your descri ptions) and verbs (your action words). In order to do this, you really need to have a wide range of vocabulary that you can use in your writing.

"I don`t know a lot of words." you say! Well I can tell you a sure way to improve that...

READ, READ, READ!

Reading new, different, challenging books will help expose you to interesting words. But it is not enough to say that you are just `reading a book`. Make sure that you look up any words that you don`t recognise or know the meaning of. And with Google and other search engines only a click away on our devices, you`re only a quick search away from a new, interesting, more powerful word that will make your writing stand out!
