SIZE

Prokaryotes are smaller and simpler than eukaryotes

DNA

DNA is free in the cytoplasm in prokaryotes, but in the nucleus in eukaryotes

DNA is not associated with proteins in prokaryotes, but is associated with proteins in eukaryotes

DNA is circular in prokaryotes but linear in eukaryotes

DIVISION

Prokaryotes divide by binary fission, whereas eukaryotes divide by mitosis

ORGANELLES

Prokaryotes do not contain membrane bound organelles, whereas eukaryotes do (e.g. nucleus)

Prokaryotic ribosomes are smaller (70S) than eukaryotic ribosomes (80S)
