A wide variety of scientific and engineering disciplines are engaged in studying and Developing technologies to solve the major problems that landmines, pose for the military and civilian populations, Security screening to avoid turbulence, and also for measuring the anomalies of the underground like ancient artifacts. While recent technology shows promising technical innovations, "metal detector" has proved to be the augur to these expounded issues.

The first ever known metal detector was invented by Alexander Graham Bell. Bell`s metal detector was an electromagnetic device he called the "induction balance". Later in 1925, Gerhard Fischar invented a portable metal detector. Today, metal detectors have become more compact and sophisticated devices. These fully-computerized gadgets use integrated circuit technology which allows the user to set fundamentals like sensitivity to a particular metal, tracking speed, etc.

The project deals with RF controlled Robot to detect metals which makes use of the transmitter, receiver, microcontroller and the H-Bridge Motor to move the bot. We have used Keil Software to program the microcontroller. The metal detecting sensor makes use of the basic principle of Faradays laws of electromagnetic induction. When the magnetic field of the coil moves across metal, the field induces electric currents. The currents induce their own magnetic field, which generates an opposite current in the coil, which induces a signal indicating the presence of metal. The project mainly throws light on the controlling of the movement of remote controlled robot to detect metal by using RF modules of transmitter and receivers.
